About us
The nonprofit organization was founded by Janet Pedraza Fonseca, the daughter of the late Esperanza Pedraza, who was a five-year breast and ovarian cancer survivor. Janet is driven by a strong desire to give back to the community, recognizing the potential to make a significant difference in the lives of others. As a carrier of the BRCA genetic gene, she is particularly dedicated to this cause. Her main motivation, however, comes from her daughters, Jenaly and Jesenia.
The foundation is committed to partnering with physicians in Corpus Christi to ensure that women who would otherwise lack access to necessary medical treatments or surgeries can receive them. By collaborating with healthcare providers, centers, and other groups, the foundation aims to promote and facilitate these services. Through these combined efforts, Janet strives to provide resources and support to those in need, making a positive impact on the lives of women facing challenging circumstances.
Our Mission
The foundation serves as a valuable resource and unwavering support system for women who have undergone ovarian or breast cancer treatment, are carriers of the BRCA genetic mutation, or have had a mastectomy. Additionally, it provides assistance to the families of those who pass away due to complications from ovarian or breast cancer. The organization is dedicated to helping these brave individuals on their journey by alleviating the financial burden they face. The primary goal is to assist middle-class individuals who are employed and have insurance coverage but struggle to cover deductibles or additional expenses associated with medical treatments and surgeries. By doing so, the foundation aims to ease the financial stress on these families, ensuring they can access the necessary care without the added worry of financial strain.
